Explore the Maldives in style on board the luxurious twin sister vessels Scubaspa Ying and Yang, both of which offer a premium service and unique experience.
In a league of their own, the Scubaspa Ying and Yang liveaboards are 50 metres in length and have been purpose built for divers and spa enthusiasts. The vessels accommodate 38 passengers in 19 cabins, with a maximum of 26 divers. The crew of 29 includes six professional spa therapists and a dive team of experienced instructors with an incredible in-depth local knowledge.
There are four decks featuring 19 individually styled cabins and suites and facilities akin to that of an island resort than a boat. These include spa treatment rooms, a lounge, restaurant, bar and a jacuzzi. All cabins feature air-conditioning and an en-suite shower room. The ten Seastar cabins (9 double/1 twin) and the Cowrie suite (double/twin) are found on the lower deck, whilst the five Manta (1 double/4 twin) and three Dolphin suites (double) are located on the main deck, offering panoramic vistas from their three metre wide windows.
Diving is operated from the accompanying 20 metre purpose built fully-equipped dhoni. Dive packages include 15-17 dives a week and are lead by one of four experienced dive crew. The programme is decided each week depending on the local conditions, but expect to be amazed at the prolific marine life that abounds in the Maldives from colourful reef fish to awe inspiring whale sharks. For those looking to re-connect, relax and be pampered, the Spa package includes eight treatments during the week. In addition to this there are yoga classes offered each morning. This unique concept offers a week of amazing diving or relaxing spa treatments on board, and for those who can’t decide, it’s possible to book a mix of both (6 dives and 4 spa treatments).
The boats depart Malé each Saturday, alternating a north and south route in the central atoll region which includes north and south Malé and Ari and Vaavu atolls. There are also a few special itineraries during the year which include the Baa Atoll for manta encounters at Hanifaru Bay on Scubaspa Ying. Experienced divers should get on board one of the Far South itineraries on Scubaspa Yang in the early months of the year (divers must be minimum advanced qualified with 50 logged dives to join the trips).
