Possibly the Maldives’ smallest resort, Boutique Beach is perfectly located to enjoy the outstanding diving on offer in the South Ari Atoll.
Located on Dhigurah, a local island on the southeast of the atoll, Boutique Beach is a charming and intimate property designed and built for divers, by divers. Guests are accommodated in six rooms with either a balcony or ground floor terrace with private garden. Four of the rooms can be configured as a double or twin bed option. The other two feature a four poster bed and a double sized daybed ideal for family or friends to share. Each air-conditioned room features a desk, safety deposit box and en-suite bathroom with open air shower and complimentary toiletries.
Just steps from the beach and the clear waters of the lagoon, facilities include a restaurant and a lounge, where videos of the day’s diving are regularly screened. All meals are included in your package, along with soft drinks. Mocktails are served on the rooftop terrace, a great place at sunset or for stargazing. Complimentary Wi-Fi internet access is available at the property. The dive centre is located a short walk away by the harbour from where the boat departs.

Dhigurah is one of the longest in the Maldives and has a population of 600 people with two schools, a hospital, shops and cafés. The property is in the village to the north of the island giving guests the opportunity to meet the locals, participate in sports and even learn to cook. Boutique Beach limits their use of plastic in resort and is involved, along with the local community, in food and waste recycling initiatives including providing plastic waste to Parley Maldives. Please note that with respect to local religion, guests are asked to dress appropriately when visiting the village, and alcohol is not available on the island. For those who want an alcoholic beverage, it is possible to arrange a transfer to a nearby international resort island (local charge).
The resort is a 20 minute domestic flight and 10 minute boat transfer from Malé airport.
Boutique Beach Dive Centre
The PADI 5-star dive centre is located a short walk away by the harbour on the north coast. Up to three dives per day are offered on board the custom-built dhoni, with a focus on small groups and high-end service. The incredibly experienced local dive team are on hand to guide divers around some of the best sites in the Maldives, locate the ever present whale sharks in the South Ari Atoll Marine Protect Area (SAMPA) and help guests contine their diving education or achieve their certification on holiday.
There are over 50 dives sites accessible from the base, including some of the most celebrated in the Maldives. Kuda Rah Thila is a magical site just 10 minutes from the resort, and Broken Rock is another well-known dive site full of colour and life, often sought out by divers. Expect an incredible diversity of marine life here including colourful nudibranch and reef fish to schools of snapper, grey reef sharks and giant trevally. Full day safaris are also offered to Manta Point, a site that has seen a resurgence of hard corals and fish life as well as high numbers of individuals visiting the cleaning station in season. The area is especially famous for its resident whale shark population which have been closely monitored by the team from the Maldives Whale Shark Research Programme since the founding of SAMPA. Over 500 individuals have been recorded over a 10-year period, the majority of these are juvenile males seen thermo-regulating allowing for snorkelling encounters at the surface.
