Guests can also enjoy drinks at the Beach Bar and Conch Bar. There's also a spa, fitness centre, water sports centre with motorised and non-motorised activities, tennis and volleyball court, boutique shop and clinic. The resort can arrange for boat excursions to Hanifau Bay where hundreds of mantas, and the occasional whale shark, congregate.
Also on-site is the Olive Ridley Marine Turtle Rescue Centre at Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu, which opened in 2017. The centre is the Maldives’ first veterinary‑lead facility dedicated to rehabilitating injured sea turtles, particularly olive ridleys. Guests can visit daily, with turtle‑feeding viewings each afternoon.
Accessed by seaplane, Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu Resort is situated on the south-western edge of Baa Atoll, which is part of the Northern Atolls.
Coco Dive
Coco Dive Centre is the onsite dive centre at Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu. Divers explore the Maldives’ vibrant underwater world under the experienced guidance of an international team of instructors, ensuring safety and comfort. The centre heads out for daily two‑tank morning dives and single afternoon dives, with night dives available on request. During the southwest monsoon season the diving schedule may be affected by the weather, but the dive centre will do their best to be flexible. Ratios are kept small at 4:1, and amenities provided on board include water, tea, coffee, and fresh fruit during boat trips.
Around 30 different dive sites can be accessed around Baa Atoll's southwest corner in 15-60 minutes, with full day trips further afield subject to minimum numbers. Manta ray can be seen year-round with numbers increasing during the summer months. The house reef experiences visits from eagle rays, dolphins, turtles and manta rays, with the sunrise side good for snorkelling. It can be dived, with a guide, at any time throughout the day.
Nitrox is free of charge to qualified divers, and a supplement is paid locally for boat diving. As a PADI‑certified centre, a full range of courses in their air-conditioned classroom are also available. Equipment can be rented too. As a regulation in the Maldives, all divers are required to use a dive computer, and gloves are not allowed. Coco Dive also offers a free introductory lagoon dive for newcomers wishing to experience their first breaths underwater.
