The Mariana is a traditional Maldivian liveaboard mixed with modern amenities offering guests a relaxed atmosphere and some incredible diving experiences. Accommodating 16 guests she offers seasonal itineraries to the Central and Southern Atolls.
The Mariana is a traditional Maldivian safari boat and offers fantastic diving adventures around the Central and Southern Atolls. She is 30 metres in length and features nine cabins accommodating a maximum of 16 guests. All cabins are air-conditioned and have an en suite bathroom. Modern in design, they are located on the lower and upper deck of the vessel and configured with twin or double bed.
The main deck features an air-conditioned salon, and plenty of outdoor space for relaxing in comfort after a dive. Draft beer is available in the outdoor bar on the upper deck. All meals are served buffet style, and everyone eats together; a chance to chat about the day’s diving experiences.
The PADI affiliated boat is accompanied by a dive dhoni and skiff. Photographers are well catered for with storage space and charging station. Experience some of the most sought-after dive sites on any itinerary and discover some hidden gems. Marine life encounters typically include green and hawksbill turtles, barracuda, fusiliers, tuna, jacks, stingrays, grey reef sharks, manta ray and whale shark sightings. Plus, there are all the smaller creatures on the reefs and in the south, there is the likelihood of encounters with several species of shark where channel diving is more popular and suited to experienced divers.
Trips operate most of the year including seven and ten night Central Atolls and Best of Maldives, plus plenty of choice to explore the southern atolls with seven, ten and 14-night itineraries available generally cruising between Koodhoo and Gan. Typically, on a seven night itinerary, 16-18 dives are offered and 30+ on a 14-night itinerary. Mariana is used for surfing adventures from May to October. The average water temperature is 29°C and a 3mm shortie or full wetsuit is recommended. All tanks have DIN valves, but adaptors are available. Nitrox is available.
