Vilamendhoo Maldives Resort Island

Located in the southeast corner of the South Ari Atoll, Vilamendhoo Maldives Resort Island is surrounded by lush tropical gardens, and sits alongside a turquoise lagoon and 900-metre-wide sand beach.

Vilamendhoo Island Resort welcomes guests of all ages and features shy of 200 villas with an incredible choice of Tropical Villas, adjacent or standalone Beachfront Villa. Guests staying in Romantic Beachfront Villas or Ocean Villas have access to adults only areas. All rooms feature a king-size bed and tropical décor as well as a furnished private patio area. An extra bed can be place in selected rooms on request. They're cooled by air-conditioning and a ceiling fan, and include a TV, minibar, tea and coffee facilities, a safe and hairdryer. The bathrooms are partially open with a double sink, amenities and rain shower. This resort is a quintessential paradise for snorkellers and divers, many of whom return time and time again.

There are a choice of dining experiences at the resort. Two buffet-style restaurants serve breakfast, lunch and dinner daily - Funama caters for guests in the Tropical and Beachfront Villas whilst amazing Ahima serves adults in the Romantic Beachfront and Ocean Villas. Both are built with thatched rooves, have a sand floor and plenty open space. In addition there are two à la carte restaurants - Asian Wok and Faru Restaurant. Evening entertainment and sport on TV can be found Bonthi Bar, a large overwater decked area. Poolside, the Boashi caters for all guests and adults can enjoy incredible views at the Sunset Bar. 

A full board meal plan is included as standard, with access to selected dining options and drinks during meals, room service, and among other inclusions. The All Inclusive Plus package upgrades includes to “all you can eat” special snack menus and à la carte restaurants discounts plus “all you can drink” with bottled water, soft drinks, house spirits and wines, blended drinks and more.  

Free WiFi is available in all rooms and hotspot areas around the resort. Facilities include two swimming pools and a wide range of activities for adults and children available including water sports, tennis court, playground, table tennis, Heron Kids Club, games room, putting green and gym. The Duniye Spa is a popular place to unwind and relax. For water lovers and scuba divers, Euro Divers operate scuba diving and snorkelling activities plus there's a marine biology centre run by the Manta Trust who run regular workshops for guests. 

The transfer to Vilamendhoo is a 25-minute seaplane journey from Malé International Airport.

Euro-Divers

Euro-Divers Vilamendhoo is located on a private jetty, a few metres from the house reef.  The reef has ten entry/exit points around the island, suitable for snorkellers and divers on the unlimited shore diving package. There are over 40 dive sites to explore including reefs, wrecks and channel dives. The PADI 5-star centre offers a full range of courses and Aqua Lung equipment rental.

Experienced divers can explore the house reef from the shore for most of the week, but it's possible to get out on the dhoni to some incredible dive sites such as Vilamendhoo Caves (rays and sharks) and Khudarah Thila, a protected marine area and a very popular dive, famous for its soft corals and abundant fish life. There are plenty of channel dives where you can drift along looking out for large pelagic encounters, including turtles, sharks and rays. There are a few wrecks to explore and day trips to look for manta rays and whale sharks.

Fluoro and sidemount diving are available here and Nitrox (32%) is complimentary for qualified divers.
