This diverse atoll is waiting to be explored with channels, rich reefs, manta cleaning stations, and even the odd wreck. Lhaviayni Atoll is a popular choice for quieter dive sites and world-class diving in the Maldives.
Lhaviyani Atoll is an excellent choice for divers looking for a mix of world-class dive sites among an idyllic Maldivian seascape. Around the atoll are coral channels, plunging walls, and vibrant reefs, plus a few wrecks too. Manta rays are seasonal from November to March, aligning with the typically drier North East monsoon, which also provide the best conditions for diving. This atoll remains a hidden gem with relatively quiet and uncrowded dive sites. It's only visited by liveaboards during the wetter summer months, as they journey to Baa Atoll’s Hanifaru Bay.
Dive sites such as the Kuredu Express have visits from schooling jacks, tuna, grey reef sharks, and rays. The multi level slope makes this site wonderful for all types of diver. Turtle Airport (also called Kuredu Caves) is nearby and has over 45 individually known green turtles, who call this reef this home. There's also great shark action at many of the channel dives, including grey reef sharks and nurse sharks.
The majority of resorts in Lhaviyani Atoll are accessed by seaplane, with some offering domestic flight as an alternative. This trip idea is based on seven nights at Kuredu Resort & Spa, with ten unguided house reef dives. The trip can be tailored to suit your personal travel requirements. Alternative accommodation options are available and some liveaboards visit this area too, check out the resorts tab and liveaboard tab for more information.
