The island hideaway features 96 standard duplex rooms set amongst the tropical gardens (four rooms in one building – two up, two down with verandah or balcony) and 34 water bungalows located over the lagoon, all furnished with a bright, modern décor. Simplistic yet elegant, they are all air-conditioned and feature an en-suite bathroom with 4-star amenities including a TV and a king size bed (a single rollaway can be added). Complimentary Wi-Fi internet access is available around the island.
All meals are served buffet-style at the open-air main restaurant offering international cuisine and theme nights throughout the week. In addition, there is a coffee shop, a cocktail bar with panoramic ocean views and the Nika bar is open until midnight.
Relax on the white sand beaches or at the Chavana spa. Divepoint Rannalhi offers diving and snorkelling trips. In addition, there are a wide choice of excursions available including island hopping and water sports, plus beach volleyball and table tennis are available. Some activities have an additional local charge. A long-established island resort, it offers a relaxed environment and is conveniently located.
Transfer to Malé airport is 45 minutes by speedboat.
Divepoint Rannalhi
Divepoint are an SSI affiliated dive centre with several bases throughout the Maldives. The dive centre is located on the east side of the island complete with a jetty and easy access to the house reef and dive boats. Fully equipped for training and with plenty of storage space the professional, international crew offer a personal service.
The house reef provides a spectacular display of corals and tropical reef fish, and with a gentle slope to 20 metres, it’s a great site to start learning or get back underwater. Other sites are reached by dhoni and are between five and 60 minutes away offering divers a wealth of experiences and marine life encounters. Expect to see several species of rays and sharks, green and hawksbill turtles, infinite reef fish, tiny critters, schools of barracuda and snapper, Napoleon wrasse, yellowfin tuna and plenty more.
Experienced divers have the chance to explore the protected sites such as Guraidhoo Corner with its diversity of pelagic species, and a wealth of marine life at Kandooma Thila best dived on an outgoing current and renowned for eagle ray and grey shark sightings. On an incoming current, Magu 2 regularly has 40+ metre visibility which is great for spotting the larger marine life on the north wall, whilst the critters can be found on the south – another site with an incredible offering for divers of all abilities.
Full Mares equipment is available for rent as well as scooter and Olympus underwater cameras. The centre provides multiple sized tanks (DIN/INT) and children’s equipment, plus it’s the first resort to introduce ENOS, the electronic rescue system for divers. There is a small tank service charge (local payment). Nitrox is complimentary for qualified divers.
