Part of the Island Luxury hotel family, Island Luxury Dive Hotel lies among the natural fauna of Fulhadoo local island, located within Goidhoo Atoll, a mini-atoll sitting on the southern tip of Baa Atoll.
The sustainable and community-led hotel is an ideal base for divers seeking an authentic and simple Maldivian escape, offering exceptional value and world-class diving.
Standard rooms are stripped back in design, with essential amenities including hot drinks station, beach towels, drinking water and air-conditioning. These can be arranged in either double, twin, or triple configuration. The deluxe rooms have the added benefit of a private balcony. Free WiFi is available in all rooms.
The neighbouring Kaage restaurant facilitates all meals, and guests also have access to the pool here. The bikini beach welcomes tourists and is a short stroll away. As a Muslim country, alcohol is not available on any local island. However, the Island Luxury Dive Hotel offers alcohol on board the luxury sailing yacht for in-house guests only as part of excursion packages, and remains subject to availability at the time of visit.
The hotel can be accessed by direct speed boat from Male, or domestic flight and speed boat from Dhavarandhoo. This hotel pairs well with sister hotel Island Luxury Retreat on the Baa Atoll Island Hopping trip idea.
Underwater Institute by Maldives Passions, Fulhadhoo
The Underwater Institute by Maldives Passions is onsite at Island Luxury Dive Hotel, on Fulhadhoo island. The island's located right on the southern tip of Baa Atoll, in its own mini-atoll of Goidhoo; the reefs here are less dived with quality lagoons and seasonal manta cleaning stations.
Three dives are offered each day, with night dives available upon request. There are around 15 dive sites plus the reef pass of Dhoru Kandu. Inside the atoll, divers can expect encounters with nurse sharks, turtles, eagle rays, and manta rays, along with impressive hard coral formations. Visibility can sometimes be reduced inside the atoll, depending on tides. Outside the atoll, conditions typically improve, and sightings commonly include grey reef sharks, turtles, and Napoleon wrasse.
The dive centre is SSI and PADI affiliated, offering everything from Discover Scuba Diving and Open Water courses, through to Dive Master. A full range of equipment is available to rent, and Nitrox can be supplied at supplement cost.
