Days 1 & 2. Depart London for Selous Game Reserve [D (Day 2 only)]

Overnight flight to Dar es Salaam, with an onward flight to Selous.

Days 3 to 4. Selous Game Reserve [FB]

Your stay is at the Rufiji River Camp, located in one of the most photogenic and wildlife-rich areas of the Selous Game Reserve. Rufiji River Camp is a tented camp situated in the north-eastern part of the Selous on a high bank, overlooking the mighty Rufiji River and the plain beyond. The camp accommodates guests in twenty very comfortable tents, each with twin-beds, mosquito nets, fully equipped private bathroom and verandah offering magnificent views.

The area is home to Hippo, Crocodile, Elephant, Buffalo, Wildebeest, Zebra, Giraffe, Baboon, Leopard, Lion, Rhino, Eland, Sable and Roan, to mention just a few of the species. Whether it is by boat, viewing game in and around the river, in 4-wheel drive open-sided vehicles, or walking through the bush along Elephant trails, a visit to the Selous brings one as close to the natural world as possible.

Days 5 to 11. Mafia Island [B, D]

Transfer from Selous direct to Mafia Island and Kinasi Lodge by light aircraft. Kinasi is a small, private lodge beautifully furnished with hand-crafted furniture and situated in a coconut and cashew plantation. Each of the twelve, en-suite cottages boasts a large verandah and provides a high standard of accommodation. Activities range from sailing to nature walks or just relaxing around the pool, gardens or on the beach.

Day 12 & 13. Homeward [B]

Day 14. Arrive home.
