Dive Point Nungwi Beach Dive Centre
Dive Point Nungwi Dive Centre is a well-established PADI 5* IDC dive operator located adjacent to Nungwi Beach, making it the top choice for divers and snorkellers visiting the area. Offering daily boat dives and snorkelling trips, the centre takes you to Zanzibar's most vibrant coral reefs and world-class sites.
A typical day with Dive Point Nungwi begins with a warm welcome at the centre followed by a briefing, before heading out on a spacious dhow or speed boat across the crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean. Morning excursions generally consist of two dives at some of Zanzibar’s best dive sites, including the renowned Mnemba Atoll, a protected marine conservation area, Tumbatu Island, and drift dives along the pinnacles of Leven Bank, which are more suited to advanced divers.
Between dives, enjoy refreshments and soak up coastal views before submerging once more to explore remarkable wall dives and healthy coral gardens. The marine life here is truly outstanding; divers can encounter nudibranchs, butterflyfish, and clownfish, alongside larger residents such as green turtles, barracuda, trevally, and the occasional reef shark. With water temperatures ranging from 25°C to 30°C year-round, conditions are ideal for comfortable diving in a 3mm wetsuit.
After returning to Nungwi beach, you’ll have plenty of time to relax, swap stories, or enjoy the rest of the day by the water. For those craving more adventure, the centre offers afternoon and night dives directly from the beach. Night dives reveal beautiful Spanish dancers, hunting cuttlefish, curious octopuses, and other fascinating reef creatures.
Dive Point Nungwi also offers a comprehensive range of PADI courses. Whether you're taking your first breaths underwater or seeking to master advanced specialities such as underwater photography, deep diving, or enriched air Nitrox, these warm, clear waters provide an ideal environment for training. With its vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life, Zanzibar promises one of the most remarkable settings for diving in the Indian Ocean.
