Escape to Magic Oceans, a quiet and intimate resort in Anda on the east coast of Bohol in the Visayas region of the Philippines. Join like-minded divers on this exclusive trip led by Frogfish Photography.

The trip includes an unlimited diving package to discover and photograph the dazzling array of marine life at muck sites, along beautiful walls, amongst the mangroves and on the colourful reefs.  Experts Nick & Caroline Robertson-Brown will be on hand with top tips, photography workshops and informal evening presentations about the marine biology of the area.

Highly recommended for all levels of underwater photographer, this is a great opportunity to hone your skills and capture images of marine life ranging from tiny pygmy seahorses to magnificent whale sharks.

Typical Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Depart the UK

  2. Day 2: Arrive Visayas, Philippines

    You will be met on arrival and transferred to Magic Oceans Resort in Anda for a ten night stay. This intimate resort boasts a fabulous house reef, catering for divers with a sense of adventure.

  3. Days 3-10 : Magic Photo Experience

    Your unlimited dive package begins today. The resort features modern facilities and a dedicated area for photographers, with individual tables complete with electricity, lights and airgun.

    Visibility here is exceptional, so divers can expect to tick off sightings of turtles, frogfish, mandarin fish, ghost pipefish, nudibranch, pygmy seahorse (Bargibanti and Denise), mimic and blue-ringed octopus, as well as schools of large pelagics and perhaps even a whale shark.

    In addition, your time at Magic Oceans Resort includes photography workshops and evening presentations about the marine biology of this outstanding location, most famous for its macro subjects, but also visited by larger species.

  4. Day 11: Day at leisure

    Today is yours to relax or join your new buddies in exploring the local area by way of sightseeing, perhaps to see the Chocolate Hills and Tarsier Sanctuary (local charge).

  5. Day 12: Depart the Philippines

    You will be transferred to the airport for your overnight flights back to the UK.

  6. Day 13: Arrive UK

Nick & Caroline Robertson-Brown

Dynamic husband and wife team Nick and Caroline Robertson-Brown are multiple award winning photographers and, along with three books published, feature regularly in the diving, wildlife and international press, as well as being the Underwater Photography editors at Scubaverse, a popular online dive companion.

Both have honours degrees in Environmental Biology and Biology respectively and are passionate about marine conservation. They are UK ambassadors of Sharks4Kids and the co-founders of SeaStraw. As owners of Frogfish Photography, they have plenty of experience in leading dedicated photography adventures around the world. Nick and Caroline can be seen presenting at dive shows in the UK, as well as offering tuition and workshops to enthusiastic audiences of all ages.

Across the channel from Cebu is the beautiful island of Bohol, a tropical haven of natural beauty, with pristine beaches and colourful coral dive sites for both divers and snorkellers to enjoy. Land attractions include the resident tarsiers and the world-famous Chocolate Hills.
