Moalboal features an amazing array of dive sites, all only a short distance from Magic Island, an intimate dive resort located on the southern tip of the peninsula.
Set amongst tropical gardens, the ten spacious cottages offer a sea or pool view and comfortably sleep two, with some able to accommodate a third person. All feature air-conditioning, en-suite bathroom with hot water shower, hairdryer, safe, unlimited drinking water and a private verandah.
Facilities include a restaurant and bar with local and European dishes available as well as plenty of vegetarian options. There are plenty of areas to relax and lounge around throughout the resort as well as a small library. The freeform pool has a deep end for diving instruction. Enjoy a massage or beauty treatment from the locally trained therapists. With great views of the ocean and Moalboal hills, the terrace is a great place to enjoy a sundowner. Complimentary WiFi internet access is available. Transfer to resort is three hours by car from Cebu airport.
A twin centre option is available with Magic Oceans Resort.
Magic Island Dive Centre
The PADI affiliated dive centre offers a full range of courses and daily boat diving directly from the resort. Moalboal offers extremely varied dive sites, all within a twenty minute boat ride on one of the three locally built bancas. Explore walls, small caves, caverns and reefs teeming with marine life. The house reef is popular for night dives and mandarin fish can be seen on twighlight dives, another highlight of a visit to this area of the world.
Marine diversity around the peninsula is outstanding. Divers can expect to see crab, shrimp, morays, cuttlefish, frogfish, turtles, jacks and tuna, hard and soft corals, large fans full of macro life and black corals. If you’re lucky, maybe even a whale shark or dolphin. Water temperature ranges from 26-29C. Both DIN and INT 12L tanks are available as well as Nitrox and Fluoro diving.
