Diving has been long established here, and Long Island is renowned as one of the best locations in the Bahamas to dive.

Note: To get to the island you may need to overnight in Nassau before taking the hour long flight south to Long Island.

Stella Maris Water Sports

The on-site PADI affiliated water sports centre operates daily boat dives to both the calmer Caribbean Sea and the more rugged, unexplored Atlantic coast, where the marine life is larger and the topography more dramatic.

Enjoy crystal clear and subtropical waters in the southern Bahamas year-round. Here it is possible to learn to dive or head over with a group for a week of adrenaline fuelled dives including Dean's Blue Hole and cruising along Conception Island Wall.

Underwater you can expect hawksbill and green turtles, black-tip reef sharks, schools of colourful fish, stingrays and plenty more nestling amongst the soft corals of the Comberbach wreck.
