The two luxurious hotels of the Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa nestle against the dramatic backdrop of the rugged interior mountains and the spectacular waters of the Gulf of Oman.

Located along a kilometre of warm golden sand, this fully integrated resort comprises two hotels with a total of 460 rooms and suites, a variety of dining experiences and a range of facilities and activities for all ages and interests, including a kids’ club, CHI spa, dive centre and private marina.

An oasis of luxury awaits at Al Waha, the family dedicated part of the hotel featuring well appointed superior rooms and suites overlooking the pools and tropical gardens.

Known as 'the town', the 5-star Al Bandar section is the focal point of the resort featuring sea facing deluxe rooms and suites with their ornate balconies depicting Old Muscat architecture. It’s here that seven of the nine restaurants can be found. Dining options range from Arabian to Italian and anything in between. WiFi internet access is available throughout the resort.

The resort features a host of facilities including a large range of restaurants and cafés, shops, bars, the Cool Zone kids’ club, adventure zone, mini golf, three pools (a lazy river connects two of them), fitness centre overlooking the sea, tennis courts, activity centre, Omani heritage village and state of the art conference and meeting rooms. It’s possible to arrange dolphin and whale watching trips as well as enjoy a range of diving and snorkelling activities from here.

The resort features the secluded turtle beach and the Turtle Care Project employing a dedicated ranger to ensure the safety of the nests as well as raise awareness amongst the guests and local communities. Visit between January and August for your best chance of seeing the green turtles nest and hatch.
