Mozambique Dive Safari

Itinerary for information only.

Day 1. Fly overnight to Johannesburg.

Day 2. Arrive Johannesburg

On arrival you will be picked up and transferred to the Africa Centre Lodge (en-suite double rooms, breakfast provided), optional afternoon excursions (Soweto Tour, Apartheid Museum, Cullian Diamond Mine Tour or Tribal Cultural Tour) plus evening activities provided in-house by the Africa Centre.

Day 3. Depart Johannesburg [B]

In the morning depart for Mozambique, travel by air to Inhambane where you will be met and transferred to Tofo Beach. Accommodation for the next seven nights will either be at the Casa Barry or Mundos Tofo Dive Resort. There is time for an orientation dive with Tofo Scuba.

Days 4 to 9. Whale Sharks and Manta Rays [B]

Whilst in Tofo, you will have two scheduled dives each day, and one day with three dives. Early breakfast is provided in the dive centre each day, prior to the first dive. Dives will concentrate on those reefs with manta cleaning stations (24 to 30 metres deep) and areas where Whale Sharks are most common. Lunch is between the first and second dive of the day. Dinner will be provided on one day. Optional afternoon activities include a cultural and historical Inhambane city tour, horse-riding, kayaking, quad biking and a sundown cruise. On the last day, there is only one dive.

Day 10. Tofo to Johannesburg [B]

Transfer to Inhambane Airport for flight to Johannesburg in time for your evening flight home.

It is possible to extend your stay in Mozambique for an extra four days and enjoy fi ve more excellent dives whilst remaining at either the Casa Barry or Mundos accommodation.

4 day Kruger National Park & Jane Goodall Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Centre Tour

Kruger National Park is world famous for good reason since it offers a wildlife experience which ranks with the best in Africa. Established in 1898 to protect the wildlife of the lowveld, it stretches 350 kilometres from north to south and is virtually unrivalled in its diversity of life forms, with 300 species of tree, 49 fi sh species, 33 amphibian species, 114 reptile species, 507 bird species and 147 mammal species! Notable amongst its mammals are Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Elephant, Hippo, Nile Crocodile, Giraffe and both Black, and White Rhino.

Day 1. Fly from Inhambane to Nelsprit [D]

On arrival into Nelsprit from Inhambane you will transfer to Pretoriuskop Camp in the Kruger National Park where you will stay for the night. Accommodation is provided in private en-suite bungalows and dinner is provided as a South African style 'braai'.

Day 2. Full day's game viewing [B, L, D]

Experience a three hour sunrise open safari vehicle game drive from Pretoriuskop Camp, then on to Croc River Lodge overlooking the Kruger National Park. You will stay the night at Croc River Lodge but first there is a three hour sunset open safari vehicle game drive from Crocodile Bridge Camp.

Day 3. Jane Goodall Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Centre [B, D]

Another early morning start with a three hour sunrise open safari vehicle game drive from Crocodile Bridge Camp. A full day of game drives with a late morning and early afternoon game viewing in the Kruger. Transfer in the afternoon to Umhloti Lodge, home to Jane Goodall Institute Chimpanzee Eden.

Day 4. Depart [B]

Spend an interesting and educational morning on the Chimpanzee tour before taking a transfer in the afternoon back to the airport and your flight to Johannesburg and home.
