Quite simply, the finest wreck diving destination in the world. Enjoy Truk by luxury liveaboard to get the most out of the unique dive destination.
On 16th February 1944, the US forces launched Operation Hailstorm, a surprise attack on the vast Japanese naval base in Truk Lagoon. With a deep lagoon, surrounding peaks and a protecting coral reef, Truk was considered to be one of the Japanese' most formidable bases. However the US attack caught the Japanese unawares and by April of the same year, the base lay in tatters, with 250 aircraft and over 45 ships destroyed.
Once a battlefield, Truk Lagoon is now a wreck diving destination without parallel, with countless WWII wrecks at diveable depths allied to exceptional visibility, stunning corals and diverse marine life.
