The 40 metre liveaboard departs Chuuk each Sunday throughout the year, offering daily diving in Truk Lagoon with a variety of wrecks and coral reefs and an abundance of marine life including sharks and eagle rays.
The Odyssey liveaboard can accommodate 16 guests across nine cabins. Of the nine stateroom cabins, seven are flexible allowing for a twin or double bed configuration, there are a further two cabins for single occupancy, whilst the final cabin has a double bunk. All cabins are carpeted and feature air-conditioning, en suite bathroom, DVD player and an ocean view.
There's a generous dining area, sun deck and spacious dive deck. The ‘boatique’ provides an indoor charging station, camera work area suitable for underwater photographers. There's also the boutique where guests can ‘buy the t-shirt’. Internet access is available at additional cost via Starlink.
The crew operates an open deck schedule with up to five dives a day to the historical wrecks of Truk Lagoon. At each site a thorough briefing is given, outlining the history of the wreck and the options for the dive, guests have the option to be guided or to head off as a buddy pair. Nitrox is complimentary for qualified divers up to 30%. Twin, sidemount, stage, and 2L and 3L inline cylinders are available for technical divers and are included in the cost of the liveaboard. A local surcharge applies for oxygen mixtures (above the standard free Nitrox) and sofnolime.
Guests have their own private seat and protected dive locker throughout the trip. The spacious, easy-entry dive platform has plenty of room for two divers plus a divemaster. There's both a ladder and in-water lift, allowing the liveaboard to facilitate divers with limited mobility. Although the majority of the wrecks are suitable for divers of all levels, having decompression experience is recommended.
The Odyssey operates throughout the year and is a very popular choice for divers of all abilities and is on many divers' bucket list.
