Bonaire is a diving paradise with over 60 dedicated shore dives. In excess of 30 years of environmental protection laws have earned Bonaire a reputation for some of the most beautifully preserved marine-life in the world. Abundant underwater life includes more than 300 species of tropical fish and over 120 different types of coral. With calm, clear, warm waters this is certainly a diver and snorkeller's heaven. Bonaire is a good choice for those wishing to learn to dive and for families. There is a wide range of accommodation, many of which have excellent child facilities. Close to the Venezuelan means that Bonaire is usually well outside the hurricane belt. This coupled with an arid environment and minimal rainfall, means great visibility and hence the diving is excellent all year round.

Bonaire Marine Park Regulations: It is necessary for all who use the waters of the Bonaire National Marine Park to pay a Nature Fee of $10.00 per year ($25.00 for scuba divers). At the time of payment, you will receive a specially designed tag indicating your support for nature preservation and a receipt. Keep both, as they will also provide you with complimentary admission to Washington-Slagbaai National park throughout the year your tag is valid. Tags are available for purchase at all dive operations, hotels, resorts, marinas, and other water sports operations on Bonaire.
