Djibouti's dive sites are distinguished by unusual specimens, Whale Sharks and Manta Rays spend almost the entire year in the Ghoubet and off Arta Beach. The Ghoubbet Pass is considered one of the most beautiful dives in the region; prevailing currents make it a favourite meeting place for Barracudas, sailfish and sharks and encourage the development of soft coral. Off Tadjourrah's white Sand Beach and around Musha and Maskali Islands, is an impressive rift site, which drops more than 100 metres, where one can encounter dolphins, turtles, Hammerheads, White, and Black-Tipped Sharks, Nurse Sharks, Manta, and Eagle rays.
The MS Deli takes twelve divers in seven cabins.
A typical itinerary would be as follows:
- Day 1. Depart London via Paris
- Days 2 to 4. [D (Day 2), B,L,D (Days 3 & 4)]
- Morning arrival and transfer to boat. Diving in Arta with Whale Shark excursions.
- Day 5. [B,L,D]
- Diving near the Pass of the Ghoubbet.
- Day 6. [B,L,D]
- Diving at White Sand Beach.
- Day 7. [B,L,D]
- Diving near Obock.
- Day 8. [B,L]
- Diving at Musha and Maskali Islands. Arrival in Djibouti town at around 14.00. Transfer to the hotel or, subject to availability, the boat. In the evening you are free to visit Djibouti town.
- Day 9. Lac Assal and Homeward [B,L]
- Optional Excursion: Morning departure for Lake Assal - explore the salt flats and the Ghoubbet El Kharab volcanoes with guide. Return to Djibouti for evening then transfer to airport.
- Day 10. Arrival home.
