The islands of the Bahamas offer countless dive sites, and a liveaboard is one of the most popular ways to explore these.

The Bahamas archipelago comprises of thousands of islands and cays spread over 750 miles of ocean. Most liveaboard itineraries focus on the Exumas National Land & Sea Park, one of the most established and successful marine parks in the Caribbean. Characterised by crystal clear water, vibrant reefs and plentiful shark encounters, the Exumas are a diver's playground and a mecca for photographers and shark lovers alike. Enjoy blue holes, plunging walls, exhilarating drift dives and possible encounters Caribbean reef, nurse, lemon and tiger sharks. Snorkellers are welcome.

The itinerary below is based on a trip with Blackbeard Cruises (six nights). Similar itineraries are offered on the more luxurious Aqua CatBahamas Aggressor and Bahamas Master liveaboards (seven nights). 

Typical Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Fly to Nassau, Bahamas

    Arrive and transfer to your accommodation in Nassau for an overnight stay.
  2. Day 2: Set sail for the Exumas by liveaboard

    Enjoy your morning at leisure. In the afternoon join your liveaboard and settle in before setting sail for the Exumas for a six night adventure.
  3. Days 3-7 : Dive the Exumas

    Enjoy up to four dives per day to explore some of the Caribbean's finest diving. Highlights include shark encounters at Amberjack Reef and the thrill of the 'Washing Machine'.

    Generally there are 19 dives scheduled throughout the trip on board Blackbeard Cruises. Water temperature ranges from 22C in January to 28C in September.

    The boat returns to Nassau on Thursday evening and will be docked in time for dinner.

  4. Day 8: Day at leisure then depart Nassau

    All passengers must disembark by 9am. The rest of day is at your own leisure to explore Nassau before making your way to the airport for your overnight flight back to the UK.

  5. Day 9: Arrive UK
