Built around a central coral and Andros pine lodge, the family run Small Hope Bay offers a variety of dive and snorkelling sites within minutes of the resort.
The lodge is situated on the largest Bahamian island, Andros, home to 140 miles of barrier reef. There are 60 dive sites on the regular dive schedule, including colourful shallow reefs, coral gardens, wreck dives, breathtaking blue holes and stunning wall dives at the edge of the continental shelf, where the Tongue of the Ocean plunges to 2,000 metres.
An all inclusive resort, it offers a friendly informal atmosphere and is built around a central coral and Andros pine lodge. A ten minute drive from Andros Town airport, the 21 rooms (cottages) are of similar build located directly on the beach. All are furnished with local décor and feature a ceiling fan and en-suite bathroom. Half the rooms have air-conditioning. Emphasis here is on a natural environment with a relaxing, low impact lifestyle and no dress code.
Catering for divers and snorkellers for half a century, the well equipped on-site dive centre is PADI, NAUI, SDI and TDI (Technical) affiliated. There are over 60 dive sites to explore including colourful shallow reefs, coral gardens, wrecks, stunning wall dives and breathtaking blue holes. Up to three daily boat dives are offered. The majority of dive sites are only 15 minutes from the lodge. Nitrox is available.
