LionsDive Beach Resort is a family friendly 4-star resort, whose facilities include a choice of four bars and restaurants, three swimming pools including a 50 metre pool, private beach, wellness club and spa and a dive centre.
Built in a typical Dutch Caribbean style with accommodation in two and three floor buildings surrounded by tropical gardens, the resort sits on a private beach just five minutes drive from Willemstad, Curaçao’s capital. It is an environmentally friendly 4-star property and strives to maintain the highest possible standards as a sustainable organisation.
With over 350 rooms and three types of accommodation, the resort caters for everyone. Hotel rooms offer a garden, pool or street view, the apartments overlook the pool and the suites are located on the beach. All rooms feature an en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning, mini fridge, TV and a balcony or verandah. There are a limited number of wheelchair friendly rooms available.
Visitors can use the free shuttle bus to Willemstad and WiFi internet access is free of charge. The resort is adjacent to the Sea Aquarium and Dolphin Academy and close to local entertainments, shops, bars and restaurants. In early November, the annual Amstel Curaçao bike race is held here. The resort is renowned for its sporting and wellness activities, great for those who find it hard to sit still on holiday.
This PADI 5-star Instructor Development Centre (IDC) offers a full range of courses for children and adults. Daily boat dives operate to popular and some exclusive sites around the island. An afternoon dive/snorkelling trip is also available, as are weekly trips to Klein Curaçao (local charge). Shore diving is possible here along the fringing reef that surrounds the island.
Underwater highlights include Beacon Point with its pillar coral and jacks, grouper and barracuda charging around looking for lunch, the Superior Producer, a cargo freighter that sunk in 1977 and lies upright at 30 metres, and Divers Leap, a great drift dive along the colourful reef. Expect plenty of underwater coral gardens, walls, overhangs, turtles, grouper, rays, squid, tarpon, nudibranch, seahorses and anything in between.
