Discover the famed Wolf and Darwin islands, home to a remarkable variety of pelagic species and Darwin’s Pillars. All this is possible from the comfort of a modern, well-equipped Galápagos liveaboard.
Galaxy Diver III is a 35-metre liveaboard designed with divers in mind, accommodating just 16 guests across eight well-appointed cabins. Built for navigating the legendary waters of the Galapagos Islands, the vessel takes you to world-renowned sites such as Darwin’s Pillars (formerly Darwin's Arch) and Wolf Island. On board is an experienced crew of eight, including two expert dive guides. Cabins are arranged across the lower, main and upper decks—guests can choose from upper-deck cabins with spectacular panoramic views, ideal for couples or main-deck twin cabins, perfect for friends or families. Each cabin features a private en suite bathroom with hot and cold showers, hairdryer, and good storage—a comfortable retreat after a day spent exploring beneath the waves.
When you’re not diving, there’s plenty of space to relax and socialise on board. The main deck has a large dining room, comfortable lounge, and a well-stocked bar—perfect for sharing stories over drinks. Meals are at a friendly time, with the chef serving a mix of delicious local and international dishes, and catering to most diets. If you want to unwind, the upper deck solarium is a peaceful spot to enjoy the sun, and there’s a hot tub for extra comfort.
The dive deck and platform sit at the heart of the operation, thoughtfully laid out to give each diver space to prepare in comfort. Dedicated rinse tanks cater for both equipment and underwater cameras, helping to keep gear in prime condition. The latest compressors ensure quick air fills, with 12-litre aluminium tanks provided as standard. Nitrox is also available and free of charge; divers need to be Nitrox certified to use.
Safety is always prioritised: Galaxy Diver III is equipped with fire and suppression systems, life rafts and jackets, and an AED. Every diver also receives a personal locator beacon for peace of mind in these legendary waters.
A typical week on Galaxy Diver III starts in Baltra, then heads north to the famous Wolf and Darwin islands. These remote islands attract many pelagic species, so you can look forward to seeing large groups of scalloped hammerhead sharks, Galapagos sharks, and silky sharks. The trip then moves west to the cooler waters around Isabela and Fernandina islands. At places like Punta Vicente Roca, you might spot marine iguanas feeding underwater, as well as sea lions and penguins. The journey ends with a stop at Cousin's Rock, known for its eagle rays and reef fish, before returning to Santa Cruz. Before leaving from Baltra, you can also visit the Charles Darwin Research Station.
