Isabela is the largest island in the Galapagos, and marine life here is both incredibly diverse and abundant, with colourful underwater seascapes.

At Isla Tortuga, on the south-eastern side of the island, you can expect to see mantas, turtles, sharks, seahorses, grouper, barracuda, tuna and the possibility of mola mola.

A magnificent feeding ground for fish, whales, dolphin and birds is created on the west and southern coasts thanks to the nutrient rich Cromwell Current upwelling. Visit here for your best chance of a whale encounter, where 16 species have been identified including humpback, sperm and minke.
