The Visayas is home to the thresher sharks of Malapascua, Dauin's outstanding macro life and numerous wonderful wall and reef dives.
Many itineraries tend to focus on the southern region (June, July, October) with highlights including Dauin, Balicasag and Moalboal. Extended itineraries include time at Malapascua (November to February & July to September) affording guests the chance of a thresher shark encounter at Monad Shoal.
Visayas liveaboard itineraries vary in length from six to twelve nights and the majority begin/end in Cebu, Dumaguete or Malapascua where it's possible to extend your stay in resort.
The itinerary below is based on a six night Southern Visayas trip on board the Philippine Siren, with a two night extension at Magic Island Resort in Moalboal.
Typical Itinerary
Day1: Depart the UK for the Philippines
Day2: Arrive and overnight in resort before joining your liveaboard
Days3-9: Begin your Southern Visayas adventure
This morning, you are transferred to the liveaboard to begin your adventure. Enjoy up to four dives a day, dependent on the daily schedule.
The Southern Visayas itineraries vary from six to 13 nights, exploring a combination of dive sites in Dauin, Moalboal, Cabilao and Bohol. This region is known for its exceptional diversity, from mating mandarin fish and flamboyant cuttlefish to thresher sharks and the possibility of a whale shark encounter.
Day10: Disembark and transfer to resort in Moalboal
After your liveaboard adventure, spend two additional nights relaxing in resort. It's possible to arrange additional diving on request.
Southern Visayas itineraries begin/end in Cebu or Moalboal, depending on the itinerary.
Day11: Depart the Philippines
Day12: Arrive UK
