Embark on an adventure to one of Africa’s finest marine parks, Watamu, on this enjoyable itinerary aimed at divers and non-divers alike.

Created in 1968, Watamu was one of the first of its kind in Africa, boasting excellent diving and snorkelling for all experience levels. Over 1,000 species of fish have been identified here and visitors may encounter devil rays, mantas and whale sharks (in season), dolphins and turtles. Lovers of smaller marine life will not go disappointed, with a range of marine life hiding amongst the hard coral reefs.

Suggested Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Depart UK

  2. Day 2: Arrive & begin your stay in Watamu

    Arrive in Kenya and transfer by road to the Watamu region, where you’ll settle in to Temple Point resort. Spend your evening relaxing in the Lighthouse Bar as you delight in the sun setting over the horizon. 
  3. Days 3-8 : Dive Watamu National Park

    Enjoy a ten package during your stay, or adapt to your own requirements. Watamu National Marine Park is superb for divers of all abilities, including learn to dive opportunities.

    With over 100 species of hard coral and 1,000 species of fish, the waters are bustling with life! The 16 dive sites harbour rays, morays, dolphin, angelfish, snappers, turtle, nudibranchs and shrimp to name but a few, whilst October to January brings the best chance of diving with whale sharks. There's also the Mida, an 18-metre prawn trawler wreck, to keep the wreck enthusiasts happy.

    There are also a range of land-based excursions, kite surfing and yoga available.

  4. Day 9: Depart, or continue your adventure

    Say goodbye to Watamu this morning and begin your journey home, arriving the same day.
