Established in 1995 the Cabo Pulmo National Park is home to hundreds of marine species and popular with both snorkellers and divers. Eco tourism thrives in this important area of the Baja Peninsula. Visits here are mainly by liveaboard.
Located on the south eastern fringe of the Baja Peninsula, the small village of Cabo Pulmo made its mark by establishing a national marine park in the 1990s, one that has become known as the most successful in the world; an incredible achievement by a local population of fishermen.
The UNESCO World Heritage Site is remote and an incredibly pristine marine environment. Divers can expect encounters with several species of shark, to dive the only living reef in North America and be enveloped by huge schools of big eye trevally. Five of the world’s species of turtle and huge pods of dolphin are often seen, plus humpback whales are seasonal visitors.
