Typical Itinerary
Day1: Depart the UK for Mozambique, via South Africa
Day2: Continue to Morrungulo
Arrive at Vilanculos airport and transfer to Peri Peri’s custom-built diving lodge at Morrungulo. Check-in and enjoy a well-deserved drink with relaxation on the ocean deck. Your evening buffet dinner with various mains will be prepared while you take in your new surroundings.
Days3-5: Dive Morrungulo
After breakfast, it's time to kit up for your first dives. Morrungulo is one of the three top diving destinations you will visit on this exciting expedition. The newest beach on the block, Morrungulo boasts an unspoilt expanse of beach along with a pristine reef system.
The marine life here is abundant and the opportunity to bump into some breathtakingly big megafauna can be easily accomplished. Possible highlights include dolphin, eagle rays, manta rays, white-tip shark, leopard shark and tiger shark.
Day6: Continue to Tofo
After breakfast, you are transferred to Tofo, your next diving destination, around two and a half hours drive south from Morrungulo. A friendly coastal town and tourist destination on land, Tofo is an outstanding destination for year-round whale shark encounters.
This evening, settle into your accommodation on Tofo Beach, with views to Barra Point, en suite bedroom with verandah, sundeck and swimming pool.
Days7-9: Dive Tofo
Enjoy more dives exploring the best dive sites around Tofo Beach. Tofo is renowned as one of the best places in the world to swim with whale sharks, the world’s largest non-cetacean animal. Adult whale sharks average around 32 feet in length, and yet despite their colossal size are harmless to humans.
Other possible sightings include leopard shark, grey reef shark, nurse shark, guitar shark, dolphin and manta ray.
Evenings are spent experiencing Tofo’s fantastic musical and culinary nightlife .
Day10: Continue to Ponto do Ouro
We have an early start this morning for the long drive south to our final destination. Enjoy a packed breakfast and refreshments en-route, arriving in time for lunch.
This afternoon, settle into your new surroundings and check in at the dive centre. The accommodation is centrally located in Ponta Do Ouro, Mozambique, just a 2-minute walk to the beach & nearby restaurants.
Days11-12: Dive Ponta de Ouro
Enjoy two dives a day over the next two days, with third dives available for an additional cost.
Ponta do Ouro is renowned as a truly exceptional destination for encounters with a variety of impressive shark species, most notably at a dive site known as the Pinnacles. Possible sightings include bull shark, Zambezi shark, silver-tip, dusky shark and hammerhead shark.
Day13: Depart Mozambique
Your adventure ends today as you depart for the airport at Maputo, connecting to Johannesburg for your international departure.
Day14: Arrive UK
Please note: Conditions can be challenging; this itinerary is suitable for experienced divers and very popular for groups of like-minded divers. It is possible to extend this trip to include a topside safari. Ask us for details.
