Supporting Bite-Back
Dive Worldwide continue to help raise funds for Bite-Back. This summer you can join in and show your support at a number of events, celebrating your love for sharks and the marine environment.
Bite-Back is an influential and pioneering shark and marine conservation charity with a mission to halt the trade and consumption of vulnerable fish species, promote sustainable fishing, protect ocean habitats and inspire worldwide respect for the marine environment.
Bite-Back runs some exciting and successful campaigns such as “Hacked Off” and a drive to inspire UK restaurants to stop selling vulnerable species including shark, swordfish, marlin and monkfish along with skates and rays with an ultimate aim to help make Britain shark fin free.
Despite stiff competition from other marine conservation charities, Bite-Back has recently won a three year partnership deal with SEA LIFE London Aquarium including funding and significant exposure at the top London visitor attraction. Go along and visit and you’ll see the designated area helping Bite-Back to deliver its campaign messages.
Dive Worldwide, and everyone who books a holiday with us, continue to help raise vital funds for Bite-Back. Our last donation was around £1,800 which certainly goes a long way towards this great charity.
Want to get involved? This summer, Bite-Back have some fun events lined up and invite you to join in and celebrate your love for sharks and the marine environment!
One F'in Mile
We completed the inaugural F’in Mile in August 2013 (see video below) and are pleased to see that leading scuba manufacturer Mares has signed up for a second year as the title sponsor. This is a fun and innovative event for all, helping to raise awareness and funds for the “Hacked Off” campaign. It’s not too late to sign up and participate in this great event at Kempton Park on Sunday 31 August 2014.
Registration for the main event costs just £20 per person and participants are invited to raise £100 each in sponsorship. Sign up here.
One F'in Mile International
If you are unable to get to the venue, then you can still join in the fun. The campaign is going global, so you can walk a mile in your fins wherever you are in the world! Do some-fin silly for shark conservation, have a giggle and help support the sharks!
Registration for the global campaign costs just £2 per person and participants are invited to raise £50 each in sponsorship. Sign up here.
