Wananavu Beach Resort offers idyllic accommodation on Viti Levu’s most northern point along the Sun Coast, overlooking Bligh Water, Sailstone Reef and Nananu-i Islands.

This idyllic 4-star property prides itself on offering visitors a traditional Fijian ambience and experience which includes a weekly Lovo night (traditional way of cooking), accompanied by a Meke, a traditional Fijian storytelling through dance and song.

The 34 deluxe bures and the chic four bedroom villa are set amongst lush tropical gardens, dotted along the beach front or perched on the hillside. All feature modern facilities with a traditional Fijian slant with air-conditioning and en-suite bathroom. The honeymoon bure and villa have their own private plunge pool. It’s a peaceful place; with no TVs, radios or music devices. WiFi internet access is available.

Facilities include a restaurant, bar, sunset deck, swimming pool, tennis court, petanque, Wai spa and a tour desk. Complimentary guided walks and cultural talks, cooking and coconut tree climbing demonstrations are also available. It’s possible to snorkel from the resort. Beach picnics and a local island discovery cruise can be arranged. If you’re looking to get married, this is a fantastic location to have your wedding.

Dive Wananavu Fiji

The on-site PADI 5* facility, offers daily boat diving and the opportunity to begin or further your dive education with a comprehensive list of courses available. Everyone is welcome.

There are two custom built boats accommodating up to 12 divers comfortably. Each morning they make their way out to Bligh Water for a two tank dive to the 40+ dive sites available to explore.  Sailstone reef is the closest, just 20 minutes from resort and the Vaut-I-Ra passage is an hour away.

Underwater highlights include swim-throughs, pinnacles and spectacular wall diving. Here, not only is it the fish life that is prolific, it’s the kaleidoscope of colours of the soft corals that make for memorable diving experiences. At Mount Mutiny pinnacle expect to see schooling barracuda and jacks as well as the rainbow reef of soft corals, the same can be said of Mellow Yellow and at G6 dive site, expect plenty of anthias swimming around this colourful coral bommie as well as plenty of critters. Other marine life often seen include sharks, turtles, moray eels and octopus.

Average water temperature ranges from 25C (May-Sep) to 28C (Nov-Mar). Most divers will be comfortable in a 3mm wetsuit. Visibility ranges from 12-30m, with perhaps Jun-Sep offering the best months. Nitrox is available.

Wananavu – Wonderful!
