Located in Dauin, on the island of Negros, Pura Vida Beach and Dive Resort is a spacious beachfront property with world-class muck diving right on its doorstep.
The resort features 27 rooms and suites in five categories, each with en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning TV and safety deposit box. The deluxe, suites and family rooms have tea and coffee making facilities. There are ten standard individual bamboo cottages at the back of the property surrounded by lush tropical gardens and coconut palms. There are two single and five double bungalows located around the pool and one by the beach, most have a twin bed configuration which can be made into a double. The two storey building behind the deluxe rooms features two suites on the top floor with their own private balcony and Jacuzzi and two of the family rooms, one of which is a large room with partially open partition, a double and twin beds, the other is two inter-connecting rooms with their own bathroom, one with a double and the other with twin beds. There is a third freestanding family room at the back of the property with two beds and plenty of room to accommodate a third.
Facilities include a swimming pool, restaurant and a bar, both located on the beachfront, dive centre and spa. In addition there is access to a modern gym nearby.
WiFi internet access is complimentary throughout the property. Transfer to Dumaguete City is half an hour.
Sea Explorers
The on-site dive centre is managed by the friendly and experienced team at Sea Explorers who offer daily boat dives throughout the year to local coastal sites as well as Apo and Siquijour islands. The international team offer a comprehensive range of diving courses from beginner through to instructor level.
The house reef and other nearby sites feature artificial reefs which have been inhabited by an impressive diversity of marine life creating an underwater oasis for both divers and snorkellers. Expect to find unique critters on the sandy slopes of Bob’s Place, several species of octopus at Bonnet’s Corner and some interesting creatures residing on Banka and Car Wrecks. Near perfect diving conditions are usually found around the protected Apo Island. Day trips here include 2-3 dives and include turtle encounters, fascinating soft coral gardens at Coconut Point as well as schools of jacks on the eastern side at Mamsa Point.
Up to four boat dives a day operate from resort in small groups on one of the fully equipped banca boats including mandarin fish and night dives. A full range of equipment is available to rent including 10, 12 and 15 litre tanks, most with Yoke (INT) but some with DIN valves. Nitrox (32%) is available.
