The Mystic River Resort is an oasis of privacy, serenity and rejuvenation, located just ten kilometres from the twin towns of San Ignacio and Santa Elena.
Set in the Belize jungle, on a steep bank of the beautiful Macal River, this intimate, eco-friendly jungle hideaway ensures a wonderful experience surrounded by the soothing sounds of birds, rustling trees and soft breezes. Owners Tom and Nadege ensure Mystic River is a true eco-lodge, generating their own electricity and purifying their own water for guests, without sacrificing the small luxuries life has to offer. They also have their own organic garden and are contributing to a reforestation, replanting many indigenous trees in the area.
All suites are beautifully appointed and feature a king-sized bed, en suite bathroom and a private verandah overlooking the river. Facilities include a pool, stables, restauarant and bar.
Mystic River is ideally located to enjoy Mayan ruins such as Xunantonich and Cachal Pech, as well as some of the caves for which this area is famous, including the Actun Tunichil Muknal site which was of much importance to the Mayan civilization. The lodge's own adventure company have also created a number of unique and personal trips with some of the finest and most experienced guides in the country, allowing guests to experience the very best of Belize.
