This itinerary begins on Kangaroo Island, famous for its native wildlife, majestic scenery and adventure activities; its temperate waters are home to the leafy sea dragon living amongst the kelp.
Continue your adventure on the MV Rodney Fox liveaboard as she sails to the Neptune Islands in search of great white shark encounters, a memorable experience for divers and snorkellers alike.
The trip culminates with a flight to Adelaide, where there are opportunities to explore the famous wineries and rugged coastline of the Fleurieu Peninsula.
Depending on your chosen airline, it’s possible to break the long journey with a city stopover on the way.
You will be met on arrival and transferred to your accommodation. Check in for an overnight stay at the Majestic Roof Garden Hotel located in the vibrant east end of Adelaide. Evening at leisure.
Enjoy your morning at leisure. Later transfer to airport for short flight to Kangaroo Island. You will be met on arrival and transferred to your accommodation. Check in for a four nights stay at the Aurora Ozone Hotel in Kingscote. Rest of day at leisure.
Your local dive package includes four dives over two days in search of the unique leafy sea dragon found in these temperate waters surrounding Kangaroo Island.
Enjoy a full day exploring Kangaroo Island. Whether you want to relax and hike along the beach, rent a car to visit deserted beaches or sample the local cuisine, the day is yours to explore.
Optional tours include a full day tour with wildlife encounters (kangaroos, koalas and sea lions) and the chance to walk in the Lathami Conservation Park (additional cost). Overnight at Aurora Ozone Hotel.
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight (s) to Port Lincoln. You will be met on arrival and transferred to your accommodation. Check in for overnight stay at the Port Lincoln Hotel which overlooks Boston Bay. Rest of day at leisure.
This morning you will be transferred to the Rodney Fox liveaboard for your three night Shark Dive Expedition. The boat sails to the Neptune Islands and offers divers and incredible adventure with plenty of great white shark encounters. All encounters are from a surface cage lowered from the boat.
It’s possible for qualified divers to upgrade to dive in the bottom cage on the sea floor, a unique opportunity to get closer to these magnificent apex predators (additional cost). Non-divers are welcome. Visits in the summer months (Oct-Apr) offer the most sharks in the area.
On your return to port, disembark early morning and transfer to the airport for your flight back to Adelaide. You will be met on arrival and transferred to your accommodation for a three nights stay at the Majestic Roof Garden Hotel.
The final days of this adventure are free to relax or explore the local surroundings. It’s possible to book a full day 4WD adventure tour exploring the rugged coastline of the Fleurieu Peninsula or head to the Barossa Valley or McLaren Vale to sample some of Australia’s best wines (additional cost).
Your final day in Australia is at your own leisure. Relax at the hotel or discover all that Adelaide has to offer. This evening you will be transferred to the airport for your flight(s) back to the UK.
