Spend a few nights in Cairns on arrival with opportunities to explore the Daintree National Park followed by a week long liveaboard expedition of 450 miles along the Great Barrier Reef and out to Osprey Reef in the Coral Sea. Experience Singapore on your return journey.
You will be met on arrival and transferred to your accommodation. Check in for three nights stay at the 4-star Pacific Hotel Cairns (or similar). Rest of day at leisure.
Our recommended hotel is perfectly located to explore and enjoy the attractions of Cairns and surrounding areas. It’s likely you’ll need time to get over your jetlag, but we’ve built in some time for topside exploring.
It’s possible to book a full day tour visiting the unique coastal region of Kuku Yalanji and walk in the Mossman Gorge in the Daintree national park, a rewarding cultural experience (additional cost).
Transfer to the dock late afternoon to join your liveaboard. This week long expedition covers 450 miles and offers 26 adventurous dives in the Coral Sea as well as superb Great Barrier Reef marine biodiversity.
The itinerary begins at Cod Hole, an amazing phenomenon of the Great Barrier Reef where you dive with ‘small diver’ sized potato cod. Enjoy big fish action and shark frenzies at Osprey Reef where the visability is typically 40 metres. The epic adventure includes time at Lizard Island and diving opportunities on the Ribbon Reefs where you can expect schooling trevally, barracuda and mackerel, sharks patrolling the reefs, plenty of colour and an amazing biodiversity of marine life; excellent for photographers.
Enjoy a final night in Cairns before your journey home.
Stay in Singapore overnight before your flight home, the following day.
Today you transfer to the airport for your daytime flight back to the UK, landing later the same day.
