Gibraltar's waters are home to numerous wrecks, perfect for exploration. Many were scuttled as part of conservation projects, and combined with offshore pinnacles and seamounts provide an unforgettable diving experience.

Gibraltar is more than ‘The Rock’ and below the waves has an impressive collection of over 40 dive sites. The constant movement of the Atlantic through the Strait brings a continuous supply of nutrients to the waters surrounding the coastline. During any dive, you can expect to encounter vast schools of anthia, mackerel, sardines, bream, mullet, and gurnard, among others. Many nooks and crannies are home to moray eels, conger eels, octopus, and spider crabs, all in abundance, creating fantastic photo opportunities.

One of the key attractions for divers is Gibraltar's wrecks, which are dotted around the peninsula. Some are historical, while others have been scuttled to create an artificial reef for marine life. Starting in the early 90s, as part of Gibraltar's ongoing artificial reef programme, numerous ships were scuttled in Camp Bay including Batty’s Barge and the 482M, which can be visited together on a single dive. These sites lie in no more than 16 metres of water and are now teaming with life. There is also the SS Excellent, a thousand-tonne streamer, constructed in the 1800s. While anchored in Gibraltar Bay on her way to the USA, strong currents caused a collection with two other vessels, she now lays at 28 metres and has been cleared to allow safe entry.

Above the waves, Gibraltar continues to deliver, the melting pot of its history creates a vibrant and varied landscape. Take a trip up the cable car to the glass Sky Bridge for speculator 360° views and to meet the overly friendly Barbary macaque monkeys, visit Moorish and Roman ruins, explore the mountain tunnels built by the British, have a drink in the vaults of Grand Casemate Square, take a dip in the ocean in Catalan Bay, and to top it off you can cross a runway on foot!
