Spitzsbergen’s coastline is magnificent, located at the southernmost tip is Hornsund, where fourteen glaciers flow into the sea and seabirds and seals are numerous.

This remarkable archipelago (also known in Norwegian as Svalbard), offers exceptional opportunities to watch wildlife. From the impressive Monaco Glacier, a favourite feeding spot for thousands of kittiwakes, to spectacular cliffs that are home to more than 200,000 little auks. Opportunistic Arctic foxes patrol the cliffs in the hope of chicks falling from ledges, while bearded seals cruise the fjords.

Sighting narwhal or beluga whales is a possibility and there is always the chance of an unforgettable encounter with the mighty polar bear.
