A short ferry ride or flight from Grenada takes you to the small island of Carriacou and a step back in time. Translated as ‘land of reefs’, it makes a great combination with Grenada.
Famous for its pristine reefs and forests of soft corals, Carriacou boasts a drift dive you will never forget. Explore the twin tugs wrecks and dive in the Sandy Island Oyster Bed Marine Protected Area, where turtles and rays are a common sight as well as its unique biodiversity.
Home to 8,000 Grenadians, the island is only nine kilometres long and traditional customs are cherished here; you’ll become a local before you have to leave this wonderful island!
Housed in a restored cotton gin mill, the Museum contains artifacts dating back to the Amerindians sourced from archeological sites, as well as relics from the time of British and French control.
