The MV Oceania is a modern catamaran operating seasonal diving adventures in the Bismarck Sea and beyond. Discover the spectacular sea mounts and lush coral gardens of Kimbe Bay, Witu Islands and Fathers Reefs.
Departing from Walindi Plantation Resort, this 27 metre long modern catamaran accommodates up to 16 guests in five twin and three double bed cabins. Comfortably furnished, all cabins offer an ocean view, are air-conditioned and have an en-suite bathroom. Guest areas include a large dive deck with camera facilities, a spacious saloon and dining area and a furnished sundeck. Up to four dives a day are offered, either from the mother ship or tender. Diving is on 12 litre tanks with both DIN and Yoke valves. Nitrox is available.
She operates seasonal diving adventures throughout the year. The eight, nine and ten night ‘Signature’ and ‘Mid-Year’ itineraries visit the picturesque sea mounts and lush coral gardens of Kimbe Bay, colourful reefs and black sand bays of the Witu Islands and the offshore Fathers Reefs. Expect volcanic reefscapes, resident schools of pelagics, sharks, rays, turtles, dolphin and the occasional sighting of a whale or orca.
In addition, at the beginning of the year (Feb-Mar), there are trips scheduled to explore Milne Bay. Departing from Alotau, the region is most renowned for the incredible muck diving sites but also boasts steep drop-offs, shallow sandy bottom dives, drifts, swim-throughs and offshore reefs with spectacular pelagic activity. There’s something for everyone!
