Malaillo is a beautifully crafted wooden Phinisi liveaboard that combines traditional craftsmanship with exceptional comfort and safety. Hosting 14 guests and featuring a dedicated rear dive platform, Malaillo delivers an intimate diving experience across some of Indonesia’s most celebrated and remote destinations.
Accommodation is spread across three decks. Four cabins are located on the lower deck, comprising two double and two twin cabins, with porthole windows. The main deck houses a twin cabin with direct access to the restaurant. Two cabins occupy the upper deck, the Master Suite with a queen bed, and a twin cabin, both featuring multiple windows. Every cabin offers individually controlled air-conditioning, en suite bathrooms, desks, and wardrobes.
The boat’s layout is designed to maximise space and comfort. The expansive sun deck offers beanbags and sunbeds for relaxing between dives, while the upper deck features a spacious air-conditioned lounge and a hammock deck complete with a floating net suspended above the sea. On the main deck, guests will find indoor and outdoor dining areas, a comfortable bow seating area, the dedicated dive deck, and a fully equipped camera room with workstations, international power outlets, extension cords, fans and lighting.
Depending on the destination, guests can enjoy up to four dives per day, interspersed with meals, relaxation, and occasional shore excursions or trekking opportunities. The Malaillo has a maximum ratio of four divers per guide. Each diver receives a personal station on the dive deck, while the vessel’s two aluminium tenders provide quick access to dive sites. Facilities include Nitrox for certified divers, Bauer compressors, rental equipment, individual equipment storage, dedicated washing and drying areas, ENOS diver beacons, AED units, oxygen kits and GPS safety systems. Fresh towels, drinking water, tea, coffee, fruit and homemade snacks are available throughout the day, ensuring guests remain comfortable between dives.
The vessel operates a range of itineraries across Indonesia’s premier diving regions, and is currently the only vessel in Indonesia covering Northern Halmahera with untouched corals away from the crowds. Trips range from five to 12 nights, and can include as many as 34 dives, depending on the route. Highlights include Raja Ampat’s extraordinary biodiversity and manta encounters, Komodo’s renowned drift dives and underwater scenery, the Banda Sea’s schooling fish and hammerhead sharks, and Alor’s remote volcanic dive sites and macro life.
With its purpose-built diving facilities, comfortable cabins, expertly designed itineraries and access to Indonesia’s most spectacular underwater regions, Malaillo delivers a premium liveaboard experience for adventurous divers seeking world-class exploration above and below the surface.
