This liveaboard adventure explores the vibrant coral gardens of southern Belize, with likely encounters with loggerhead turtles, nurse sharks, Caribbean reef sharks and graceful eagle rays.
Your adventure begins in Belize City, where a short domestic flight takes you over the Mayan coastline to the laid-back village of Placencia. Here, your liveaboard awaits, ready to sail into the heart of the southern cayes.
This itinerary focuses on the most sought-after dive regions, starting with South Water Caye Marine Reserve, where vibrant coral gardens host colourful parrotfish and graceful eagle rays. The journey continues to the renowned Glover’s Reef Atoll, famous for dramatic walls patrolled by horse-eye jacks and large groupers.
Next, explore Gladden Spit and the Silk Cayes, where healthy reefs offer encounters with loggerhead turtles and nurse sharks. Concluding at Laughing Bird Caye National Park, this protected area is a haven for underwater photographers; intricate coral formations provide a backdrop for macro subjects like arrow crabs, Pedersen's shrimp, green moray eels and the rare, endemic white-spotted toadfish.
Over seven nights, you can do up to 27 dives, including night dives. Aluminium 12-litre tanks and air fills are provided, with Nitrox available for an extra charge. Visibility in these clear Caribbean waters is exceptional, often exceeding 30 metres. Water temperatures typically range from 26°C to 29°C, offering warm, comfortable conditions; a 1.5mm to 3mm wetsuit is recommended.
