This fully guided adventure offers diving enthusiasts plenty of memorable shark encounters at Aliwal Shoal as well as the opportunity to discover the incredible diversity of Ponta do Ouro in Mozambique.
This diving adventure begins at Aliwal Shoal, famed for its shark encounters. Expect ragged tooth, oceanic black-tip, bull, hammerhead, guitar and tiger sharks, which all frequent the area (some seasonal). Continue north to Mozambique where diving is still relatively new to international visitors. Dive the reefs around Ponta do Ouro where you can expect encounters with tiger, bull and hammerhead sharks.
There is an abundance of marine life along the coast and the focus is on sharks, however you can expect to see a huge variety of other species including humpback whales (seasonal), dolphin, turtles, manta rays, devil rays, eagle rays, eels, game fish and plenty of reef fish.

Day 1:
Depart the UK for South Africa

Day 2:
Arrive and transfer to Umkomaas
You're met on arrival and transferred to your
lodge in the small town of Umkomaas, where you spend the next five nights. Spend your mornings diving and your afternoons relaxing. Some evening activities are arranged during your stay, such as a braai (bbq) and dinners to local restaurants.

Days 3-6
:
Shark diving at Aliwal Shoal
Your package here includes eight guided boat dives. The boats are launched on the river or from the beach each morning. During your time in Umkomaas you dive on Aliwal Shoal where sharks are a plenty. Expect raggies, oceanic black-tip and tiger sharks.

Day 7:
Transfer to Mozambique
An early start this morning as you transfer up the coast to your next lodge in Ponta do Ouro, Mozambique where you spend the next five nights. On arrival (by 4x4 vehicle) you check-in. The rest of the day is yours to spend at leisure.
The next few days, you spend your mornings diving and your afternoons relaxing. Some evening activities are arranged during your stay, such as a braai (bbq) and dinners to local restaurants.

Days 8-11
:
Dive Ponta do Ouro, Malongane and Mamoli
Your package in Mozambique includes eight guided boat dives. The boats are launched from the beach each morning. During your time here you dive on the reefs of Ponta do Ouro, Ponta Malongane and Ponta Mamoli. Expect bull and hammerhead sharks and plenty more marine life on these healthy reefs.
All diving is from a RIB and the sites are within 20 minutes of the shore. Keep an eye out for whale sharks that are spotted year round from this remote area.

Day 12:
Depart South Africa
This morning you're transferred to the airport for an onward domestic flight followed by an overnight flight back to the UK.

Arrive UK
