Anda is a little explored area on the east coast of Bohol featuring 15 kilometres of fascinating dive sites. Join Simon Rogerson on this exclusive adventure to discover the diversity of the marine life and unique topside experiences on this emerald isle.

With easy access to a multitude of stunning dive sites away from the crowds, the holiday experience in Anda is both relaxing and rewarding, especially for divers. The magic of Anda is in its mix of habitats as well as the diversity of the colourful marine life.  

Join award-winning writer and photographer Simon Rogerson on his return to the Philippines to this lesser-known area where rare critters abound, turtles cruise on by and unexpected encounters are commonplace. 

This expert led trip includes 17 dives over seven days. Over the course of your stay, enjoy the camaraderie of like-minded divers as you discover the eclectic mix of sites along the Anda coastline.  

Typical Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Depart the UK

  2. Day 2: Arrive Manila, overnight stay

    Arrive to Cebu and transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay. The evening is at leisure, and we have a chance to meet with tour leader Simon Rogerson and be introduced to the rest of the group. 
  3. Day 3: Fly to Bohol, transfer to dive resort

    After breakfast this morning, you are met and transferred to our accommodation in Anda on the east coast of the island by road and boat. Set amongst tropical gardens, Magic Oceans is a boutique ocean front dive resort away from the crowds with easy access to multiple dive sites along the 15 kilometre coastline.  

    Once settled in, the group will have an afternoon check dive. 

  4. Days 4-6 : Dive Anda

    Enjoy 17 fun dives during your stay. The dive pack includes time at the less explored local sites, which offer a diverse topography as well as marine life. Expect to see rare critters as well as bargibanti pygmy seahorse, frog fish, ghost pipefish, mantis shrimp, octopus, moray eels, rays and turtles. The list isn’t endless, but it is a long one! 

    The daily dive plan will be discussed and decided locally. 

  5. Day 7: Excursion to Lila and topside adventure

    It’s an early start today for an exclusive full day trip to the coastal town of Lila on the south coast of Bohol to dive with the resident whale sharks, followed by some topside sightseeing to the Tarsier Sanctuary and Chocolate Hills on return to resort. 
  6. Days 8-9 : Dive Anda

    Continue diving along the long stretch of coastline with 30+ dive sites to explore. The magic of Anda lies in its habitat diversity. Highlights include visits to Lamanok for its macro life, a magnificent dive at Dap Dap renowned for its flying gurnards, the opportunity to see the Shaun the sheep nudibranch at Secret Place, plus plenty more incredible familiar and colourful marine life species. 
  7. Day 10: Day at leisure

    Today is a free day to continue diving, relaxing in the resort or you could even book a local excursion (local charge) to discover more of this special area where nature abounds.  
  8. Day 11: Depart Anda

    After a relaxed morning, we say goodbye to resort staff and will be transferred to Tagbilaran airport for our afternoon flight to Manila. Our final night is in Manila, before travelling home the following morning.
  9. Day 12: Depart the Philippines

    This morning, depart the Philippines, arriving back to the UK later the same day.

Simon Rogerson

Simon Rogerson is an award-winning writer and photographer specialising in natural history and the underwater world.

He began his diving career in Southeast Asia in the early 1990s and has since amassed more than 3,000 dives all over the world, from Antarctica to the Sudan. Simon’s is editor of the UK’s biggest diving publication, SCUBA magazine, but he also writes for both Times and Telegraph Travel, in addition to numerous others. A patron of the Shark Trust charity, Simon’s obsession with photographing sharks has taken him to many world-class destinations. Now, he wants to share his insight and experience with fellow divers.
