Exclusive Sudan Photography Expedition

From the desert to the ocean; join the M/Y San Marco next April to dive one of the most remote regions of the Sudanese Red Sea and experience some incredible photo opportunities, all with the guidance of one of the world’s finest underwater photographers.

This unique trip will be led by acclaimed photographer and journalist Daniel Brinckmann and includes a full photo workshop with group and individual tutoring as well as evening presentations to help you develop as a photographer. It’s an opportunity to learn new skills and put them into practice in one of the most sought after diving destinations in the world.

The week long voyage promises to be an incredible diving adventure for photography enthusiasts with plenty of iconic subjects including the lighthouse at Sanganeb Atoll, hammerhead sharks, a profusion of healthy reefs and the wreck of the Umbria. The diving in Sudan is rich in marine life and offers a mix of walls, plateaus and wrecks to explore. Expect plenty of colourful reef dwellers, schools of pelagic fish and several species of shark; plenty to add to your portfolio.

Trip Leader: Daniel Brinckmann

Daniel has been diving since age 11. He had his first dive travel article (about the Azores) published just after leaving school. He then went on to study journalism at Dusseldorf University where he regularly freelanced for Rheinische Post, one of Germany’s biggest dailies.

His fulltime focus on worldwide travel and scuba diving began in 2008, a profession that led him to remote destinations such as Clipperton Atoll, Malpelo and Papua New Guinea although he was just as comfortable in the rivers near home photographing artefacts from WWll.

An acclaimed journalist and photographer, he is a resident author for Unterwasser (German diving magazine) and his work has been published worldwide including articles in Tauchen, X-Ray Magazine and National Geographic.

David has taken part in several scientific expeditions on endangered shark species (in the Red Sea and Azores) and underwater archaeology. His passion for diving in Sudan was realised on his first trip there in 2014 with its pristine conditions and plentiful shark encounters.
