Diving holidays for all abilities

We arrange diving holidays for all abilities, from non-divers right up to technical divers. Find out more about some of our suggestions

Non-divers
By making careful choices it is possible for non-divers to have a wonderful holiday with their diving partners. One solution is to choose a resort where the diving is completed by lunchtime so the rest of the day can be spent together; this is possible at many of our Caribbean and African destinations. Alternatively, you can choose a resort with plenty of non-diving activities like Hamanasi Resort in Belize, where partners will be with other guests exploring, hiking and snorkelling in small groups, or Le Meridien in Fujairah with its gym, spa, swimming pools and other activities.

Liveaboards are not usually a good idea for non-diving partners but some, like the Hans Christian Andersen Cruises in the Philippines and the Sea Star yacht in the Seychelles, actively encourage this combination so, whilst you are off diving, your partner may enjoy island visits or take part in such activities as kayaking or hiking.

Learn to dive
At Dive Worldwide we know how confusing it can be when faced with the array of dive courses and destinations around the world. Our experts are all qualified divers and can assist you in choosing the right course and destination for your first diving experience. Our specialist dive consultants are available to answer any diving, training or destination questions you may have. You can be assured that all the centres we work with at home and abroad have been chosen for their high standards of instruction and safety.

If you are thinking of learning to dive on holiday we recommend a trip to Toucan Inn, Tobago, Palm Garden Resort, Phuket or Eriyadu Island in the Maldives. It is possible, however, to learn to dive at the majority of featured resorts.

Qualified divers
If you are a qualified diver, be sure to take your certification card and log book with you. If it has been a while since your last dive, a review may be required and will have to be paid for locally. In many resorts, divers will be required to undergo a local orientation as the first dive, which is usually part of your pre-paid package.

Continuing your dive education is an adventure, and eventually could lead to a whole new career. Develop your skills and increase your confidence whilst on holiday by working towards the PADI Master Scuba Diver qualification, which can include the enriched air diver (Nitrox) and underwater photography speciality courses. Alternatively, if you want to go one step further, look out for Instructor Development Centres (IDC) in the brochure. These include Utila Dive Centre, Honduras, Eco Divers - Manado and Indonesia (please contact us for details).

Technical diving
Experienced divers are always looking for ways to improve their skills and perhaps, stay down longer or venture deeper to discover more of the underwater world. Technical diving is getting more popular and accessible to recreational divers throughout the world. Technical diving does come with more risk, but safe practice and quality professional training will ensure you continue to enjoy your diving.

Qualified technical divers will enjoy exploring Micronesia. Nitrox is available on many liveaboards in the Maldives and we offer an exhilarating journey through New Zealand for small groups. For those who are looking to take their first steps, Dive Tech in the Cayman Islands and Habitat Bonaire offer comprehensive mixed gas and rebreather training programmes in warm, clear water. Where possible, dive centres with technical training available have been highlighted throughout the website. These are recognised throughout the world and their structures, whilst similar, do vary with regard to content and prices. The most commonly featured agencies are listed below:

BSAC British Sub Aqua Club
IANTD International Association of Nitrox & Technical Divers
NAUI National Association of Underwater Instructors
PADI Professional Association of Diving Instructors
SDI Scuba Diving International
SSI Scuba Schools International
TDI Technical Diving International
