Extra Divers Spice Island Resort

Nestled in the serene beauty of Halmahera, Spice Island Resort's on site dive centre offers an impressive range of diving opportunities that promise an unforgettable experience.

One of the standout features of this dive centre is its close proximity to a multitude of underwater sites. Dive enthusiasts can explore more than 40 dive spots, all within a short 10 to 20-minute boat ride from the resort, with a house reef also available to dive. Small groups of no more than four divers per guide ensure that every dive is both safe and intimate.

Divers can expect to encounter a superb variety of marine life. Graceful black-tip reef sharks are seen on most dives, while white tip, and grey reef sharks are seen on more current swept wall dives. Turtles and bumphead parrotfish are regularly seen in the area, while fortunate divers may get a glimpse of the endemic Halmahera walking shark. The colourful world of both hard and soft corals will paint your dive with vibrant hues, and there are plentiful rare finds such as the pygmy seahorse, frogfish, and octopus that make for perfect photography subjects.

Spice Island Resort features two dive boats, ready to transport you to the mesmerising underwater landscapes of Halmahera. Choose between 12-litre aluminium tanks or opt for 15-litre steel tanks (available on request with limited availability; reservations), with both DIN and international fittings. For added convenience, rental equipment is available at an extra charge.
