Sorido Bay Resort is a pioneering property in Raja Ampat, accommodating divers in luxury and comfort. Located on Kri Island, it sits on a beautiful deep lagoon with a white sand beach.

The seven cottages are inspired by traditional villages, have been built by local craftsmen using natural materials and have had minimal environmental impact, blending in with their tropical surroundings. Each spacious cottage features modern amenities including air-conditioning and a camera workstation. Facilities include a restaurant and bar with panoramic views of the bay, a sun-deck and wet lounge by the water’s edge, a library, souvenir shop and a PADI affiliated dive centre. WiFi internet access is available in your room.

Local topside excursions include island hopping and hiking where you can observe the local endemic wildlife such as the red bird of paradise.

Due to the protected location of the island it's possible to visit here throughout the year. Scheduled transfers operate on set days throughout the week allowing for stays ranging from 7 to 21 night stays, Sunday being the main transfer day. Transfer time is about an hour and a half by speed boat.

For those who prefer a no-frills stay, it's possible to stay at sister Kri Eco resort, also on the island.

Papua Diving

Expect to be blown away by what you discover and encounter. Over 374 different species of fish have been recorded in one dive on the house reef!

The micro climate in the Dampier Strait ensures great diving and snorkelling opportunities throughout the year. Boat diving is offered six days a week and there are over 50 sites to explore within a 10km range. In fifteen minutes you will be diving some of the top spots in Raja Ampat, the epicentre of the Coral Triangle.

The fleet of eight fibreglass boats have been custom built and locally made. Each accommodates a maximum of six divers and a minimum of two guides. Each day is planned by the experienced guides according to the local conditions and you’ll be offered two morning dives and one in the afternoon. Unlimited diving from the jetty is available and night dives are on request. It’s possible to arrange additional half or full day trips (local charge) to visit long range sites such as the Fam Islands, Passage and manta encounter area.

It’s here where you can expect mind blowing pelagic encounters an incredible number of fish and an amazing biodiversity of marine life on the coral reefs – whether you are diving or snorkelling. Nitrox is complimentary for qualified divers. PADI freediving courses and fluo diving are available here.

The  summer months bring more wind but better visibility. Average water temperature is 28C and most dive in a 3mm wetsuit. Visibility ranges from 15-30m.
