Nabucco Island Resort is located on a private picturesque island off the coast of Kalimantan. Dive the key sites of the Maratua Atoll from here including Kakaban and Sangalaki.

The resort features eight duplex and one single bungalow dotted around the tropical island, most with a waterfront location, all traditionally built. Each room is furnished with twin or a double bed with mosquito nets, air-conditioning, a mini bar, balcony and en-suite bathroom.

Facilities include a restaurant built on stilts over the water where guests can enjoy panoramic views with their made to order meals. Close by there is a bar serving cocktails and local beverages, perfectly located to watch the sunset. In addition to diving and snorkelling, other activities include massage, cooking course, snorkelling, volleyball and island visits.

The resort offers a tranquil setting and a natural charm, with plenty of local wildlife inhabiting the island. It is perfectly located to dive some of Indonesia’s best spots throughout the year. There are set arrival and departure days which combine a charter flight and/or boat journey from the mainland. A visit to this remote paradise can be incredibly rewarding.

Extra Divers Nabucco

The dive centre is located on the jetty and features a reception and equipment room. The welcoming and experienced team offer a full range of courses (SSI & PADI) and up to four boat dives daily from one of the three modern, diver friendly fibreglass boats.

Most dive sites are within 15 minutes of the resort on the Maratua Atoll. One of the most renowned, ‘Big Fish Country’ is only five minutes away. This channel dive is famous for its schooling barracuda as well as other pelagic species enjoying the nutrient rich currents. Expect to be captivated by the marine life here, at the heart of the Coral Triangle, whether it’s seahorse, nudibranch and frogfish or turtles, sharks and rays that excites you.

Whilst there are regular sightings of eagle rays, jacks, bumphead parrot fish and schools of dolphin accompanying the boat, the underwater highlights include the wonderful walls and a snorkel at Kakaban’s non-stinging jellyfish lake as well as the turtles and manta rays at Sangalaki. Trips to these sites are a full day trip. Snorkellers are welcome.

Both DIN and international/yoke valves are available on the 12L aluminium tanks. A full range of well maintained Aqua Lung kit is available to rent. Nitrox is available.
