A boutique resort nestled between lush mountains and the warm inviting Caribbean Sea, Hamanasi is located in the south a short flight from Belize City.
Accommodation is in elegantly furnished treehouses raised on stilts in the lush tropical gardens, or beachfront rooms with breathtaking ocean views. All feature air conditioning, an en suite bathroom and private porch. The heart of the property is the ‘Great House’, reminiscent of a plantation home, where the restaurant, bar, reception and gift shop are located. Other facilities include an infinity swimming pool, hammocks and a 19 kilometre stretch of beach on which to walk or relax. We recommend the ‘Reef & Rainforest’ package as the best value for money to enjoy diving, inland excursions and adventures.
There is much more than diving and snorkelling to be appreciated from this well-situated resort. Onshore excursions include Magical Mayan History Tour, Cockscomb Basin Wildlife & Jaguar Preserve, Mayflower Waterfall Hike, as well as opportunities for kayaking or canoeing on jungle-rivers. Alternatively go cycling or swim in the curved, freshwater, infinity pool, or simply stroll through the fishing village of Hopkins.
Hamanasi Gold Palm Dive Centre
The on-site PADI 5-star Gold Palm facility, and friendly experienced crew, operate daily boat diving and a comprehensive range of courses from beginner through to Divemaster. In addition, snorkellers are welcome. Divers booked on the 'Reef & Rainforest' package will head out to the barrier reef each day and explore the South Water Caye Marine Reserve. The pristine seascape includes spur and groove reefs with hard and soft corals, sand channels and wall diving. Keep an eye out for tiny creatures including shrimp, spotted drum and gobies as well as eagle rays, turtles, southern stingrays, moray eels, king mackarel and a myriad of reef fish. . There are seagrass beds directly in front of Hamanasi and its not uncommon to spot Antillean manatee and turtles feeding here, particularly on quiet, calm days early in the morning.
