Lying at the base of the dormant Quill volcano on the island of St Eustatius, Golden Rock Dive & Nature Resort is a luxurious and environmentally conscious haven for all levels of diver.
There are various accommodations within this large resort, and they’re all beautifully appointed with superb views from a balcony or terrace. If you value the flexibility of having a kitchenette on holiday, then there are two sizes of suites available for you to choose from. These options come in a villa style with ample living area. Spacious deluxe rooms and one and two-bedroom cottages complete this resort's offering.
Golden Rock’s restaurant, Breeze, is a destination in its own right. With spectacular views, it’s not just a not-to-be-missed culinary experience. Bobby’s Beach Club’s sun deck is the place to enjoy sushi, pizza or a barbecue and laze in a hammock by the man-made lagoon.
The large lagoon is ocean-fed and a maximum of 10 metres deep, with a sunken school bus creating an artificial reef. It’s a great place to snorkel, free dive, or learn to scuba dive. The resort has plenty to occupy non-divers; if you’re feeling active, you’ll enjoy the pools, gym, basketball, and tennis courts.
The resort prides itself on its natural surroundings, with over 1,300 plants and trees curated for a rich environment attracting hummingbirds and much more. Garden walks wind through this lush environment; listen out for hermit crabs as they roll away downhill, and relish in the adventure of exploring nature.
The resort cleans its grey water, purifies salt water, and uses solar power alone.
Statia Divers
Statia Divers is located at Golden Rock Resort and lies on the shore of the world's largest man-made lagoon. The size of a football field and a maximum of 10 metres deep, this ocean-fed lagoon is a great place to learn to dive. There’s even a submerged school bus submerged to make an artificial reef.
The team at Statia Divers are qualified to teach all PADI courses from Discover Scuba Diver to Dive Master, which makes them an excellent choice for trying diving, getting qualified, or learning something new.
St Eustatius has over 30 dive sites to explore in the marine park, and they lie just five kilometres from the harbour. The experienced team offer diving tailored to your experience level. You can expect vibrant marine life including sharks, turtles, and rays. Chien Tong, an old fishing boat, is a particular favourite of green and hawksbill turtles day or night. Walls, reefs, wrecks, lava flows, and ancient sites make up a marine park heralded by National Geographic. Its no fishing and anchoring policy ensures healthy, plentiful reefs.
