An iconic tropical island in the Mamanucas Islands, Castaway is an award winning resort, surrounded by white sand beaches and colourful coral reefs.
Castaway Island resort is the original private island resort, there before the film was made, it's generously spread over 70 hectares of lush rainforest, sand beaches, vibrant coral reefs and pure azure seas. Offering genuine island hospitality and creative island cuisine, the resort provides a unique holiday experience for each guest.
The 65 secluded, spacious and traditionally thatched bures offer a choice of beach front or island location, with an emphasis on privacy and comfort. Every bure is lined with a traditional, hand painted ‘Tapa’ cloth with its own unique design. Air-conditioning is available in each room, along with en suite bathrooms and other modern amenities.
Facilities include a swimming pool, free WiFi in public areas, beach yoga classes and complimentary use of kayaks, snorkelling gear and stand-up paddleboards. Guests can take advantage of the kids’ club in addition to indulging traditional Fijian massages at the Vale ni Veibobo Spa. Tours and excursions can be arranged locally to Mordriki Island, where the film “Castaway” was shot. Guests can participate in projects with the Mamanucas Environmental Society by planting corals on the nursery on the house reef.
